The 2010 Scottsdale auctions will forever be remembered as the Katrina of collector car events. All of the area auctions were affected to some degree by the worst storms to hit central Arizona in forty years. Russo and Steele was hurt the worst by the Thursday night weather with one tent collapsing and one blowing onto the adjacent 101 freeway. But the skies did eventually clear in Scottsdale and it turned into a pretty good weekend for the other auction companies. The collector car market survived the downturn of 2008-09 and seems to be on its way to a modest recovery in 2010.

Alright. a couple of years ago my day bought a car in cali. (we live in texas). He bought it in an auction as a salvaged car. he had to come quickly back so he told his “friend” to finish the process. The friend put it under his company’s name. I dont know why. the car came fine and with all the paper work. So the thing is that i lost the title paper and i only have the bill of sale. how do i get a copy of one if im not the real owner. I didnt have time to change the owner on the car or register it. so my car is just sitting in the drive way unused. we cant locate my dads friend. Please real answers only. Thanks:)
No my name is not registered to the car like i said above. Its still under my dads friend name.

Call the DMV that you originally had the title through (where it was last registered). As long as YOUR NAME was the registered owner on the title, you can apply for a lost title. It should take a few weeks to get the title made and may cost some money but it will be mailed to you as a duplicate that invalidates any previous titles.

Then get better about tracking paperwork.
