Has anyone ever heard of copart car auction websight?

Question by Ryan: Has anyone ever heard of copart car auction websight?
My wife is thinking about buying a car with a salvaged title from this web sight, I have concerns about the safety of bidding and buying online… And was just wondering how it all works and if you think the web sight is safe, The car shes interested in is a 2008 scion xd and only needs the back hatch door replaced…. she was originally going to buy this car off craigslist from a small dealer but they sold it to this copart.com company, whatcha think?

I’ve heard of it, but never bought anything from it. I know Copart is a place where salvaged vehicles go. So if you get into a wreck, your insurance company sends your totaled car to Copart for money. Selling used vehicles might be a new business they’re trying to get into.

If you are located in a state where there is no dealer license required to purchase from Copart, you can bid on the vehicle. With a salvage title, you most likely will have to have the car repaired, and inspected by the state, before it can be titled and tagged in her name.

The cars are sold as is, with no warranty either expressed or implied. If the car breaks in half after you buy it, you own two pieces.

Copart is a large company that disposes of damaged vehicles for insurance companies, and also allows others to put vehicles in their auctions. They are reputable, but they are in the business of volume sales of “junk”. If she buys the car, they will provide all the needed title paperwork, but she needs to check on state laws and requirements that will have to be met to put the car on the road.

I used to buy CDS Vehicles (vehicles sold at copart by used car dealers) bought 5 vehicles so far and have never had a problem. Of course the price is not as good as for salvage ones but you should just keep on trying as copart is the auction where exacty the same vehicle may go for $ 3000 or $ 10000. So everything depends on how lucky you are. If you would like to see how much their vehicles go for you may watch virtual live sales on http://www.easyexport.us for free even without getting registered. If you decide to sign up they will make copart account for you in just 5 minutes.
