Question by paul67337: How to salvage a car and truck?
This is at a rental house. The tenants moved out (they were behind in rent), and left the place full of junk. There are 2 vehicles behind the house. An 80′s model truck and a 90′s model car. I don’t believe either one runs. One vehicle has the guys expired drivers license, bill of sale, vin inspection certificate, title, social security card (!!!), and a box of checks inside it. The tires are not flat.
How should I go about getting rid of them and still make a few bucks? There is a metal scrap yard about a mile away. I have an oxy/acet cutting torch. There are also a 3 auto salvage places within 5 miles. Long scrap is selling for $ 150/ton here. Should I cut it up and take to the metal recycler, or should I have the salvage places come and haul them away? Any tips on dismantling a car with a torch?

My brother scrapped his truck for 300 the bummer was they took 150 out of that for towing so see if you could get a trailer or something

Just give your local salvage yard a call. They will come over, tow them away and probably give you $ 200 or $ 300 for them.

Before you can sell those abandoned vehicles you must first gain title to it. Every law has a procedure for transferring abandoned vehicles, check with your local police department to get details.
If you just take the cars and scrap them you could end up being sued.
