General information, registration, auction format and schedule for the Silverdome auction. Sealed bids for the absolute auction can be submitted until Nov. 12 at 4pE. Built at a cost $55 million, the Silverdome was the largest arena in the NFL when the engineering marvels doors opened in 1975. So what does the winning bidder get? How about 127.5 acres, special zoning from the city and of course the dome. Dont have an NFL franchise to put in the Silverdome? No problem. Pontiac city leaders are ready to work with the new owners on just about any redevelopment proposal. Sealed bids are now being accepted by Williams & Williams through Nov.12, 2009 at 4p ET. At that time, the city of Pontiac, in its sole discretion, may declare the current high bidder the winner and the auction ended. OR the city may elect to invite no more than the top five high bidders to a best and final outcry auction. Should the city determine that they will continue the auction to final outcry, that live event will be held in Pontiac, Mich., on Nov. 16, 2009 at 1p ET at the Marriott Hotel in Pontiac, to give all finalists time to travel to Pontiac. For more information contact Dan Falls at Williams & Williams at 918.362.6558 Considered an excellent high-profile redevelopment opportunity, the Pontiac Silverdome, an 80300-seat stadium, is prominently situated on 127+/- acres accessible by I-75 and M-59. I live at Perry and MLK right around the block from the SD. I see it EVERY single day and it makes me sad to see it go to waste but I do not think to myself “that bitch Jennifer Granholm” everytime. She had NOTHING to do with the sale of the Silverdome but I will admit that the state should be more hands on with the situation.

Because your not looking at it in a way that would make Pontiac a better place. Granholm appointed people on the board the appointed Leeb, after he was in office she passed it off.I’m not trying to personally attack you but pointing out that what you are doing is following something blindly that has done nothing good for you. I grew up down the road in Clarkston and we are the people that keep money pumped into that hell hole, by being patrons at the Piano bar and a club 7 in the downtown area.

Why are you making a personal attack at me? I tottally agree that the Silverdome situation is rediculous. I live in Pontiac, trust me. So she was PRETTY MUCH the one that had Leeb appointed or she actually did it all on her own? Give me a yes or a no. It’s not her fault. Pontiac was already on its way down the drain before Granholm came into office. It’s not her fault. You can’t blame one person..but you can blame your local elected officials.

It has everything to do with her. She was the one who pretty much had Leeb appointed as the emergency Finance manager and he is the guy that was supposed to be in charge of getting Pontiac out of debt. Leeb should have found the original high bidder for the Silverdome and re-negotiated the same or slightly lower price instead of wasting money on an auction and getting less than half of what a previous person was willing to pay. You Sir are a sheep.

It’s nothing to do with Granholm. Ford Field’s construction had been completed by the time she was even elected into her first term. Show me some kind of proof that it’s all one person’s fault and provide documentation.

Fuck Granholm. Stupid idiots, Im so disgraced how this was handled. We need to rise up against the corruption in Detroit and Pontiac.
