Question by noober: Will donating your car automatically make that car a salvaged title?
My uncle has this car that he wants to sell it has a salvaged title but he says that they told him at the auction that it was because someone donated it, and since it was donated, it was automatically categorized as a salvaged car. Is this correct? Sounds a little fishy to me. If it makes a difference, I reside in California.
Thanks in advance!

the vehicle could have been donated — by a party that was getting rid of it due to the vehicle sustaining damage worth 75% or more of its value. if they were donating a vehicle without damage, they would have simply signed the title over to the charity and the charity would have gotten a new title — not a salvage title.

thats balogna A salvage car has been totaled by an insurance company because it sustained heavy damage, either it was in an accident, or possibly a flood, but just sending it to a thrift store for resale does not qualifty it for salvage, the insurance company does this most of the time.

Donating a car has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not it is has a “salvage” title. I think someone at the auction put one over on your uncle.
